Hello all, I've just gotten all of my parts together and have fully assembled my new comp, however as soon as I turn it on the LEDs flash and nothing happens. Any advice? I suspect it may be improper positive/negative connections to the mobo from the power switch or my PSU is broken. My thanks.

Processor - E6750 @ 2.66
Mobo - Gigabyte Ga P35 - DS3l
PSU - Thermaltake PurePower 600w
Cooling - Cooler master Hyper tx2
HDD- western digital 320gb
Video Card - Chaintech 8800GT
Case - raidmax Smilodon

He's right - no rectified, alternating current :-) no concept of positive or negative - well at least in the traditional sense. Just think about those two pin figure of eight radio leads (or for your PS2), it doesn't matter which way round you plug them it, the radio always works!

Sounds like the PSU isn't activating correctly which might be due to a electrical short which will cause the PSU to power down as a safety feature. Try removing all non-essential cards etc. and try again. Check carefully over all the components to ensure that nothing is comming into contact with the sides of the case for example. Try another PSU, perhaps yours is faulty.....

1st check the connections:

4-pin cpu, 24-pin mobo, cpu, cpu fan, cpu fan power, video card, etc.

Are they all in?

2nd clear the cmos, referring to the manual.

3rd power on & post what you see on the monitor & the case. The sequences of lights. Normally in this order: power light on, a short beep, floppy/optical/hard disk lights flash brieftly, keyboard lights flash (if you get to this, the board is fine), finally floppy/optical/hard disk lights stay on for a bit.
