Need new RAM

So my computer one day decided to stop booting one day. It wouldn't even POST. After careful fiddeling i discovered that it was one of the RAM sticks that was shorting out the Mother Board. I removed it and it works fine now. I do however need to replace the RAM b/c now i have only 1 stick of 512 and its not enough to game. I have a gigabyte s5 motherboard and the OCZ RAM i used is not on the compatibility list for the Mobo. So my question is what is the best and fastest RAM i can put into the system.

The best RAM is Crucial Ballistix PC2 8500 for DDR2, overclocks very well to. Don't know if it will work.
