Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forums and I have a question.

My motherboard only has 1 IDE slot.

So I was told this will be able to have 2 IDE devices.

I read on the internet about them and so far I found out the blue ones goes to the mobo and they grey is slave and the black is the master.

I wanna hook up my hard drive and CD Rom to this.

Can somebody tell my where does the black and blue one go to, and what jumpers would the hard drive or CD rom need to be set to.

Thanks guys and sorry for the long post :]

Hook the HDD to the black connector. Set it's jumper to master.
Hook the CD-Rom to the gray connector. Set it's jumper to slave.
Hook the blue remaining connector to the blue IDE connector on the motherboard. Remember to power both drives with molex power connectors.
For the jumper positions you can look at the top or side of the drive or you can look up the settings on the internet.
Once all this is finished, go in the Bios, make sure the HDD is primary master and the CD-Rom is primary slave.
Set the boot order to boot from the CD-Rom first, second the HDD so you can install the Operating System.
