So I had no where else to turn. My cpu has gone coput. It is definately the cpu since I have tested others on my board and they work fine. I just stopped working all of a sudden. It is a retail E6600, and I don't have the retail heatsink no longer.
Questions:
1. I have lost the cpu box is this a problem? Only thing I may have is the invoice from Newegg.com.
2. What the heck is Intel's technical support number? I can not find it anywhere. Do they exist, lol.
3. Any experiences with RMA'ing a cpu from Intel?

Thanks for the help.

If I remembered correctly, you don't need the box or heatsink in order to RMA the CPU. You just need to send it back to Intel's RMA center.

Here is how you can RMA your processor.

Hope this helps.

------------------------------ Intel will not take the top spot, or probably the top 3 spot back for the forseeable future. Not even with 32nm and more cores will intel be able to beat Jaguar. - JennyH the AMDiot, Nov 2009

Just got off the phone with Intel they will RMA my cpu, it voids the warranty if you do not have the stock heatsink. Keep that in mind all.
