Hey folks,

I thought I would post here to try and get some suggestions on how I should OC the CPU, memory GPU etc on this. Or any thoughts to make my benchmark of 14673 a bit better.

This is my DXDiag

Of course from the DXDiag:
Motherboard: Gigabyte EP35-DS3R Ver2.1
Memory: OCZ OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit
Power Supply 600 Watt CoolerMaster
CPU Intel Q6600 Quad
Creative SB HIFI Extreme Gamer
Sapphire Radeon HD3870 Toxic 512
Maxtor 160GB 7200 HD SATA

Everything is Air cooled with 4 fans. I can run Most games on High settings with no tweaking. But get stuttering on some .

I can get the CPU up to 3.1GB and No more than 1125 on the Ram without the Computer shutting down or freezing. The temp never goes above 65 degree C when I am doing these adjustments.

I don't know what I am missing, I do know that with this setup, I should be doing alot better in the games and the benchmarks should be abit better in my own opinion.

I have the disc to go to Vista Home premium 64 bit instead of 32bit if this would help, but I am concerned that some of my applications that I use and some of the games I play will not work.

So in closing any ideas from you folks would be appreciated.

Oh yeah, Bios and drivers are up to date. Done those this morning.

Thanks in advance
Bobby

What kind of HSF do you have on your q6600?

Have you bumped up the voltage at all?

Have you tried overclocking the video card with riva tuner?

Not sure what you mean my HSF sorry. I have not touched the voltage and yes I have played around with the Riva Tuner.

I have heard tell of folks using one core for one thing and another core of the cpu for another, I am not sure this is even possible. When it comes to tweaking, I know the basic stuff and can mess around with with most of the stuff.

Guess what i am saying is I need help in making this thing work better with only the basic understanding in how things work on the tweaking side of things.

Bobby

You tell me what I do.
