hiya guys

I am looking at a few cases to go with my Abit IP35 Pro, Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme, 8800GT.

I don't much care for over-the-top case designs with mega loads of fans and LED's.
I want something clean, minimal, with really good cooling, and good interior design, and as quiet as possible.

Price isn't a massive issue, but i'd like to keep it down if possible. Under £150 I think is a fair price.

So far I have the Antec P182, and a few of the Lian Li aluminium ones.

Any more recommendations?
Cheers guys

Well the Antec Sonata III is another one that is quiet and much cheaper then the p182s and comes with a 500 watt seasonic made powersupply. Maybe you have already looked at it and ruled it out because of the thermalright 120

Yeah, I suppose its gotta be quite a deep case to fit the massive heatsink.

I did see that sonata. It looks a bit cheap to me though.
Although i want the case understated, I still want it to look a bit sexy.

And hopefully in black!

If you have looked at Antec P182, Coolermaster COSMOS 1000 should also be worth checking out. Don't know about the price, but I belive it is a bit bellow the price you mentioned. It is a bit heavy though( 18 kg) :)

The P182 is a good case. I use it and am happy. You can usually find good deals on it too. (I got mine $50AR shipped)

I can recommend the Antec Solo which I use. It is quiet, cool, and I have a thermalright ultra 120 extreme mounted in it, along with a 8800GTS-512-G92. You can also look at the Antec designer 500 which is the same case white(a good looking case which I had before), has stealth drive doors, and a 500w psu. This would be my favorite if the psu suits you. The sonata 550 plus is also a solo case with a 550w psu.

I'm loving the Antec 900

Great price, and great stock cooling, all fans filled up, top 200MM exhaust fan that easily empties the rising hot air. It can be catered to 3 speeds, low noise, mix noise + cfm, high cfm.

Of course stock fans are never really great...But considering what you get for the price, and the quality build, it's a STEAL. Even the top 200MM fan has a 3 fan speed controller like everything else.

I use to despise middle tower cases due to bad experiences in the past, but this case restored my faith ^_^. It also fits the tuniq tower 120 I have in here. The tuniq drives the air upwards, right towards the 200mm fan that exhausts it right out of the case ^_^.

It does have one empty fan slot, on the side panel for a 120mm fan, it doesn't get in the way of the tuniq tower, shouldn't for the thermalright ultra 120 extreme either. But if it does get in the way, a little saw can take off the plastic clip holder easy if you need it.

I upgraded from a Sonata II to a P182, and the P182 is a much more solid and quiet case, even with the same components. The new Sonata's might be better, but it's amazing how much quieter the hard drives are in particular in the new case.

AFAIK the Antec 900 and the CM 690 cases have plenty of room for the parts listed above. Either of them are good solid buys. Both are about the same price, unless you find deals. In the US we get occasional MIR's (mail in rebates) that can drop the prices down on either of the cases mentioned, so that changes things quite a bit. Not sure if you have any such programs where you live. I would be happy with either case, but I don't own either one. I've just read quite a bit about both and they seem to be built well and are affordable and generally pretty quiet, assuming you have a quite PSU too.

8800gtx w/e6600 OC'd will run on Antec 380w w/27A on 12v rail, PSU!!
