Hi, I'm currently running a q6600 with a bus speed of 370 mhz. I have ddr2 800 ram with 4 4 4 12 timings stock running 1:1 with the cpu. I am wondering if I should tighten my ram timings since right now my ram is running underclocked of what it is stock? I could prolly raise the ram frenquency too but I heard it is better to run it 1:1 with the cpu.

Here are my settings: FSB QDR: 1333 DRAM: 667 (1:1) Ratio. I originally had my memory timings at 4-4-4-12 1T. Ran orthos but it stopped after 2-3 hours. So I set the memory timings to auto and left the 1T. Checked everest to see what my computer set the timings to and it was 5-5-5-15.

Try using the auto settings and see what your system sets them to then work your way down from there and also run orthos or prime95.

You may tighten your timings if you want. It will require extra work and time, so if you think that little performance increase is worth it, then by all means go for it.

link the memory to FSB so in your situation it should be running on 740mhz. with the 4-4-4-12 timing you already got its decent really. but depend how long you keep it. tightening the timing or even up the ratio for the FSB:RAM is not worth the hard work. because upping ratio proved there is no dramatic gain. only a few MB/s. you should up the FSB to make it go faster altogether.
