Hey,

Recently I am hearing that dreaded clicking sound from the hard drive. I only hear about a click every 5-10 minutes but even so I'm worried that my HD is dying. I have a seagate 500GB and I've run their diagnostic tools and it found no bad sectors. Are there any software out there that check for mechanical errors? Like e.g. problems with the reading head. Also, are there any bootable software? My PC is having a problem booting now since it says that one of my system files is corrupted.

Yah I figured as much. I used a rescue disk to restore the computer to "normal" status and now I'm running spinrite to check it. I think I'll RMA the hard drive.
