I am putting together my new build these are the specs that matter with this choice:

AMD Phenom X4 9850BE
Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe Motherboard
Antec Twelve Hundred Black ATX Full Tower


My question is which HSF is better XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 or the ZALMAN CNPS9700 LED 110mm? Which is easier to install? Will either work with my mobo and case?


I read the reviews and both seem excellent price does not matter since its either 36 or 53 not a big difference. I know the XIGMA has a sucky push pin system so either way I have to pay extra for the retention bracket.

Xiggy or TRUE. And I think they are both about the same size! They were designed to be exactly the length to give em clearance in normal depth cases.

So it should fit.

Smaller cases, not height, but depth, may be a problem. But the depth is usually a set value as well, because expansion cards have to be xxxx, etc, high.
