I am having to reset my LAN adaptor (Realteck RTL8168) evertime my computer wakes or is restarted from sleep or hibernation. I am not sure why this is happening. I have a Netgear Wireless Router WPN824 connected to a DSL modem. Disablying Zone Alarm does not help. Any ideas please? Motherboard is GA-P35C-DS3R and I have tried both Vista and XP no difference.
Thanks.

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you. Be glad that is the only problem you have with suspend or hibernate. MS has never gotten them right.

Same problem here on the DS3L. Been googling around, can't find a solution. Realtek website is absolutely horrible for finding things.

I resolved the problem. The problem is not the Adaptor but the Firewall settings. You have to include the Adaptor in the Firewall's "safe" or "trusted" zone. I am using Norton's Internet Security and have the Realtek Adaptor in the Firewall's " Shared" Netwrok setting. If you are using Zone Alarm, I believe its the "Trusted" Zone. Hope this helps.

Not using Zone at all. Does Vista have a setting like this too somwhere?

I don't know much about the Windows Firewall, but you may find some info here:

One alternative is to install the free version of Zone Alarm or a trial Norton Internet Security or Firewall just to help you troubleshoot your problem.
