A friend was wondering if I could build him a decent system (only for web browsing and such). Budget $100 after rebate for motherboard, processor, RAM, and video card if needed.

My current picks (have only looked at newegg so far)

Processor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819104005

Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813128045

RAM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820146566

Should these parts play nice? I have never used AMD processors, thus I do not know if the CPU/mobo are compatible. Motherboard accepts 1000MHZ Hypertransport (2000MT/s) and the processor needs 1600MHZ. Logic tell me that since 1000<1600, it should not work, but then there is the 2000MT/s. Wikipedia did not help me. So I ask here. I apologize if this is a stupid question.

Anyway, does anybody know of a better price for parts like these?

The cpu & mobo are AM2, so they're compatible. The bios will auto-detect the cpu & set it up accordingly. If you're not overclocking, it won't matter one bit.

The ram is not something I'd get for a budget build. There are $20 2x1GB ram after rebate. OCZ is one of the popular brand. Just get DDR2 & you're all set.
