Powersupply compatible with Sli 8800GTX's

Hello guys

I was wondering if yous could give me advice on what powersupply to get to cope with my sli 8800GTX's?

As I have an antec powersupply (1000w) but it doesnt seem to be getting enough power to the GPU's I know I dont need any bigger.

What is it that makes you think your cards aren't getting enough power?

1000w is more than ample for anything you throw at it regardless of what a lot of people tell you. all but the most demanding machines will draw a maximum of around 700-800w

If you have this power supply and you still aren't getting enough power, you either have a broken power supply or you are getting enough power.

If it isn't beeping (and/or telling you in text it has not enough power), artifacting, reboting or shutting down, you have enough power.

Oh i know the power is there but antec have had problems with 8800GT's and 8800GTX's

Just google it and see for yourself the string of casulties.

It's to do with the motherboard thinking that theres not enough power coming from the power supply so it reduces it or something - im not sure as you can see but its along those lines

So, other than the fact that other people have had issue's, are you having any of the one's that randomizer has pointed out ?

Oh sorry I didnt tell you what it does - windows (the graphics) doesnt run smoothly or some games should be playing highier than they are.

My friend had the exact same problem with his antec only his was 850w and he sent his back and now its been replaced an working fine

Strange, sounds more like a driver bug, but if you think it will fix it, replace it :/
