Heres the thing, I have a netgear router in one room with a pc there and in the other i have my pc i just built. I want to connect it on my network and am wondering whats the best way to do it aside from being wired? Also, what does whatever you suggest compatible with?

If you just built a PC you'll be comfortable installing a PCI wireless adapter -- that's generally the best choice for a desktop.

I have a friend that loves this external adapter.

But, I just installed this PCI wireless adapter in my girlfriend's desktop.

She is getting four bars signal strength at a distance of 50 feet
and the signal passes through three walls.

Also this is available.
