Their allowing preorders for 5 bucks. The estimated sell price will be 209. plus another 10 or so for shipping isnt bad.. right? xD

the question is should have pooped for the 8500? na the 8400 is the sweet spot

Blah, 60 more bucks to go up 100mhz?... Ok it does have a .5 higher multiplier, but still... Like you said---E8400 is definitely the sweet (and I mean sweet) spot =D

I ordered an OEM e6850 last week. they gave me an email today saying that they sold out and asked if i wanted an e8400 instead. i said gladly, its only around $240 in Australia compared to the $330 of the e6850. i get it on monday woot

hope your motherboard will support e8400 since it use different front bus to e6850.

E6850 and E8400 both are 3.0 ghz with 1333 FSB. E8400 has 6MB L2 cache compared to E6850's 4 MB L2 cache. So they both have identical front side buses

The only DualCore with a 1600 MHz bus is the X5272 in 771 at 3.4GHz and still with 6MB L2. Nice chip but prcey!!!
