Using fans without a motherboard?

Is it possible to just check out my PSU but not have my motherboard yet on a Antec 900 or do I have to hook the power switch up to the motherboard.

A psu needs a load on it to start up. You can buy a power supply tester for under $20, but why do you need to do this?

PSU's usually need some sort of load to turn on. Possibly connecting all the antec-900 fans will do. Here is a psu troubleshooting guide from PC Power&cooling http://www.pcpower.com/support/ATX_troubleshoot.htm

You could do the same thing with a psu tester.
