Hi everyone, my first time here so I hope I get things right.
I have a problem with my newly put together system, which I don't know how to adress,
and hopefully someone here might have a clue.
I put an "Intel Core 2 QUAD" on a "Asus P5B iP965" with 4 gb of ram, and I've hooked it all up.
But when I boot it, it seems the CPU fan have trouble starting. At first it seems to start, but
then its sound seems to imply it not being able to proceed: the pitch of the "humming" lowers.
However, after a few tries it usually picks up speed after first "lowering its hum", and then everything
works fine. It boots and I can do whatever I want, and the system almost never freeze. Sometimes I do
get an error just when bootin stating: "overclocking failed," which is something I don't know anything about, i.e.,
I havent OC'd it, not to my knowledge anyhow.
I've updated the BIOS, checked that all the cables are in place, there is enough voltage from the power supply,
I've disconnected the harddrives, but I just can't get it to work properly.
Has anyone got a clue regarding what's happening here?
Help is much appriciated.
Thanks,
Aron
