I have a concern about a video card upgrade I'm about to purchase. I have the M2N SLI Deluxe http://www.asus.com/products.aspx? [...] odelmenu=1 and would like to upgrade my card to the MSI 8800GT OC http://www.msicomputer.com/product [...] class=vga. What am I missing out on since my MB does not support PCI 2.0 and the card does? Do I need to upgrade MB to allow my card to reach its full potential? If so, what do you guys recommend? Thanks for your time.

If the mobo is still PCI-E 1.0, the video card will run at 1.0 as well (just like USB 1.1 vs 2.0)

If you'd like to run at a full 2.0, you'll need to upgrade to a mobo that supports this such as an nvidia 780i

Not sure of the real-time advantage however

after reading, http://www.tomshardware.com/2008/0 [...] i_express/ . It seems like there is no real advantage, currently, to go with PCIe 2.0. Maybe in the future, but not presently.

I have a PCIe 1.0 slot with a PCIe 2.0 ATI 3870. It works great.
