Hi

i hve a p5k green mobo and am a bit of a novic as this is my first system and am going to upgrade my cpu from a pentium 4 e660 to either a e6850 or a e8400 and am wondering will i need to update the bios, the board was brought about August last year and when pressing tab during boot up it says the bios revision is 0302.

If i had the option i would much rather not update, but if i do what what would be the best way?

Probably. Here's thread on another forum for the P5k-e, there may one there for your board also. You might also want to look up your board on the Asus webite, I think under downloads they list all the bios numbers and what each was for.

ok so i need to update my bios is it safe to just go straight to 0902 and skip the 10 before it, or will i have to flash each one in sequence?

The most recent bios contains all the info from the previous versions. Flash it once.
