More Information

Hey all,

So i built a new pc about 2 weeks ago and it runs fantastic, it has the New e8400, 4gb kingmax ram 5-5-5-18 (2x2gb Dimms), Sapphire HD3870 (single slot cooler) and a Zalman 9500LED. Anyway i wana overclock my e8400 to 3.6 (so i have a 1:1 ratio and do some benchies), so i done a bit of reading and found this board i have ECS P35T-A isn't a fantastic overclocker ( i already knew that but it didn't worry me because the cpu is already super fast). So i figured what i will need to do is drop my ram from 800mhz down to 667mhz and up the FSB from 1333 to 1400, therefore giving me a 1:1 and will not overclock my ram. But....this is my problem, upon reading i've come to the conclusion that this board does not ahve a PCI/PCI express lock, so if i up the FSB then that means the PCI/PCI express frequency will go up, no? And i do know that its a very bad thing to happen, i don't wana fork out another $300 for the 3870. Can anyone confirm that this board DOES OR DOES NOT have a pci lock, or, if it is safe to overclock? The bios is very simple and does not offer many options so yeah. I've looked but the only thing i can find is enable/disable spread spectrum.

Thanks for reading my novel
