price drop 8800gt

i am willing to buy a new graphics card. But i have to wait for some month. Probably 5 or 6 month i will wait for my next card. I want to go for geforce 8800 gt. These cards are much higher price now. I cant afford that much price. Will the price drop withing 6 month or so? can anyone assume how much price drop can it be? if i can buy the card in $180 or less if i wait 6 month or some longer? Or should i go for a second hand card this february? i heard geforce 9 series is coming out. Moreover 8800gt cards have shortage. That's why those cards are so much high price right now. But i am assuming probably in july or august those cards price will be less than 200 or so. Please assist me. And will it be good if i go for ati radeon 3870 series? I am a nvidia fan although.

the price should drop as the 9xxx cards come out. I would say the price should drop below $180 by this summer.

as for the ati card, its a good buy in its price range as well. if you don't need the performance that the 8800 provides then the ati card is a good choice too.
