I have a MSI K9N4 SLI AM2 (7325) board and it is Pci Express 16x (8x SLI), will the newer 8800gt's PCI express 2.0 work on this board. I have heard yes and no. I know that they are suppose to be backwards compaitable. Does anyone have one running on this motherboard and any problems? I have BIOS 1.4. I am looking at the Zotac 8800gt 512mb pci express 2.0 AMP edition. Looks to be a very nice cooler and card. I have emailed Zotac, but haven't heard back from them. There are some issues with some pci express 1.0 and 1.0a and the new 2.0. I have heard about 80% work, but that leaves 20% out.

PLZ read the forum a bit
PCI-E 2.0 is backward compatible with PCI-E 1.0 so u can put a 8800GT on your board

I have read the forums, and as I said, I understand that PCI-E 2.0 is backward compaitable, but if you search the web, do a google, or check other forums you will find that some 8800gt's are not working with some pci-e 1.0, 1.0a. There are forums that list motherboard compaitability with the 8800gt's, but I haven't found my setup up yet to see if it works. Hoping someone here may have the setup!

That kind of information should actually be in the users manual of the graphics card. I would check the manufacturers page or their corresponding forums.
I remember that there were some problems with the new cards on the first PCIe revisions.
