Hard drive not installed and detected
Last response: in Windows XP
i have use more than 10 disk of windows xp to format compaq pressario v3000.. when i press enter to format.. it shown that the hard drive is not installed.. what should i do sir?

Open up the bios setup and check to see if the hard drive is turned on ?
Check the jumper on the hard drive and see if it is set to master? Check if the hard drive power is plugged in, check to see if 5V and 12V to the hard drive is active?
See if the power supply is good overall?
It is possible that the hard drive could be bad, use Hiram's boot disk to check for bad sectors on the hard drive?
