memory in not primary slots?

Hi,

I've got an m2v mobo in which my first ddr memory slot isn't working.
(there are four slots, 2 primary yellow and 2 secondary)

I currently have installed an corsair 1gb in the second primary slot
and I was thinking about getting an gb extra but I'm not sure whetever it is possible, and safe , to insert it in one of secondary slots.

Any1 knows whetever I can do this?


And one more question , my system is currently not so stable actually very unstable it's either memory or psu (500 watt cooler master extreme power)
Will inserting another memory dimm affect my sys stability?

oxhound009 if you get another 1 gig stick of ram make sure it the same ram as the one in slot two,us the new ram in slot four to get dual channel then you will be ok.hope this help
