Can I install that MB into my first-gen Antec Sonata case?

My old GPU just blew up, and took my MB with it, so I want to get into a price-performance balanced set of components ASAP.

Since I already have the Sonata case, it would save me to buy and install a new MB, CPU (e6750), RAM and GPU into the old case. (I'll also reuse pre-existing HDs, opticals, etc.)

In a month or two, I'd like to get the Cooler Master COSMOS 1010 and some fancy cooling, but I've got to get into something right now and want to maximize my value. I've got only about $400.

I appreciate your help!

Hello polyphon.

To answer your question, yes - that motherboard will fit into the antec sonota case you have. I would be weary as to what type of GPU you try to fit in there though.....large GPU's such as the Nvidia 8800GTX's are probably too big.

As long as your case is ATX and your motherboard is ATX....you're good to go.

Great, jpmeaney! And thanks for the keen reply.

I WAS looking at a nicely priced XFX GeForce 8600 GT. Any opinions on whether that'll fit?
