i will be getting a e6550 or e6750 cpu soon and i need to find a heatsink thats going to work for me, and thats not extremely expensive, 55 dollars or less with fan

ill be putting it on a p35 ds3l board inside of a antec 900 case

any good recommendations would be nice

also im overclocking whichever one i get to 3 ghz flat nothing more, thanks

^^^ Agreed.

You could get a Scythe Ninja, $46 with shipping. It is better than the Freezer, i.e. allowing you to overclock higher.

However, the Freezer 7 Pro is only $28, it will do very well for 3 GHz, and it's much easier to install than the Ninja. I'd pick the Freezer.

Edit: check out the GA-P35-DS3R too. The DS3L is great, but 4 SATA ports limit your upgrades too much IMO.

I second the opinions expressed above. The Freezer 7 is extremely popular and probably one of the least expensive, good coolers out there.

Also, I love your sig aevm.

The fan is a bit of a proprietary thing from memory. If you want something you can put custom fans on look at the Thermalright 90 and 120... although they are considerably dearer

the e6750 is basically a steup cpu from my p4, but once games actually start utilizing quad cores im gonna get one, but for right now an q6600 really isnt needed i dont do video editing really at all and if i do i have the patience to wait, the dual core is still more then most games need so its good enough for me
