Hi guys,

I bought my new Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 BOX yesterday. Today I downloaded some programs for temperature measure. Look:

Everest Ultimate 2007:
Core 1/2/3/4: 70ºC~74ºC (158~162ºF)
CPU: 53ºC (127ºF)
Mobo: 36ºC (97ºF)

SpeedFan:
Temp1: 36ºC (97ºF)
Temp2: 53ºC (127ºF)
Core 1/2/3/4: 55ºC
Core: 44ºC

RivaTuner 2.06:
Core temperature, ºC: 44

What is the right program?
Are my temperatures very high?

Thanks

I would recommend downloading core temp. Also, look over in the Overclocking forum for more information about temperatures (the stickied topics at the top have a lot of good information).

lol. god be with u.

rivatuner is showing u the core of gpu temp.

speed fan 4.33 u have to add 15c as offset to each core.
speed fan 4.34 will show u the right temp without the need of adding offset.

try coretemp (since i never used everest).

my coretemp and speedfan both give me the same temp.

Just like Kari said, if your Q6600 idles at 70~74C, then its a lot to the high side. Even if it is at load, it is still considered high.

Here are some simply solutions:
1. If you're using the stock fan included with the Q6600, you might want to improve air flow within the case to get more desirable temperature. It would definitely be helpful if you have a dedicated air duct for the CPU cooler (most case nowadays sports dedicated air duct). It would also be better if you can bundle up the cables in the case to allow maximum air flow in the case.

2. If this persists after cleaning up the case, you might want to consider getting a 3rd party air cooler. Personally I would recommend Thermalright U120, if you don't mind the noise. If you are really sensitive to noise, I would recommend Scythe Infinity (its a very large cooler though).

Good luck with it. =D

I'm using a GA-P35-DS3

I will try apply more thermal paste Arctic Silver 5, what you think guys?

I don't know the !@#$% problem of this processor....

That screenshot shows SpeedFan on the right and it shows CPU usage of 2.3%, so those are idle temps. 0_o

reseat the heatsink, remove the old paste and apply some new. Make sure all 4 pins are all the way through, so it sits nice and tight. Hope you removed the thin plastic from the bottom of the heatsink, that doesnt conduct heat very well. :p

And btw, what you guys think about my new temps:

Core Temp and Everest are marking the same temps:
Mobo: 38ºC
CPU: 26º
Nucleos 1/2/3/4: 40~43ºC
GPU: 38ºC
HD: 29ºC

Coolit Eliminator on my Q66. 1.34 vcore, oc'd to 380x9. 100% load, ambient at 23c, CPU ~34C, cores around 45C. Man I love that Eliminator. Right now my ambient is about 20C, mobo is at 22C, CPU is at 14C, cores are 19 to 24C...... :)
