Hey,
I'm running a Compal Hel-80 laptop ( with an Intel 82801GBM/GHM (ICH7-M Family) SATA Controller).
(it currently has a seagate st9120821AS drive in it that keeps booting up w/ a SMART failure, but continues to run. I thought I should use the SMART failure as an excuse to buy a bigger hdd.
From what I've read this controller 'supports' Sata2's 3Gb/s transfer rate, but does not fully work for some reason.
So, I have narrowed down newegg's SATA 1.5 selection to these two, the max size I can find for SATA 1.5.
SAMSUNG M6 Series HM320JI http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152111
or
TOSHIBA MK3252GSX (HDD2H01) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822149072
What do you guys think?
Thanks!
