Quick Question, to any1 that is framilliar with the memory voltage option with this BIOS.

My timings are 4/4/4/12 on a pair of Crucial Ballistix, what + option in the BIOS will get me too the stock 2.2v 4/4/4/12?

I have the options of( normal, +1, +2, +3, +4, ect.) I just do not know how high to go to get 2.2v.

Info: I have GIGABYTE GA-EP35C-DS3R, 2x gigs of Crucial Ballistix, E8400 OC'ed to 3.6. , i want to run a ratio of 1:1 so that is why i am running the mem @ 800Mhz.

Thank in advance for your generous reply.

If you read the BIOS. The stock voltage is 1.8v, +.4 will do.

Doh, hehe i forgot to read that somewhere:)

Another question: Do i have to run 2.2v for 4/4/4/12? what if i ran 1.8 with those timing's instead? Would it cause instability running tighter timing with lower voltage or cause damage? (also i noticed on newegg Crucial has 4/4/412 2.2v advertised in the specs) and alos cpuz shows this profile to work with 2.2.

I ask cause i have had these timing's with 1.8v this whole time LOL.

first off you dont have to run it at certain voltage the manufacture tells you to.

if your CAS 4 timing pass prime blend test then its fine. so 1 rule to follow, if the system pass the small ffts and blend test then its fine at that setting.

clear?:)

Thank you guys:)

And iluvgillgill, yes we are clear:), im gonna do some p95 test later today.

And MrsBytch, thats exactly what i was thinking would work the best.

The thing is i now have my e8400 OC'ed to 3.8 with the memory still @ 4/4/4/12 timings with the voltage set too 2.2. So basically i have OC'ed my ram a tad bit now.

Anyways ill have to do some tests and see how things go.

Thanx again,

in my experience i hav a pair of OCZ XTC plat. its recommended voltage for 800:4-4-4-18 is 2.1V but i manage to do the same with just 2V and it run much cooler and stable. some ram rated at certain voltage doesnt always work. a friend of mine got a pair of g.skill rate at 2.3V but no matter how hard he try he cant get it stable. but when lower to 2.2V anything will pass prime.

you get the picture now?

I think i get the picture.

Before my 3.8 OC i had a 3.6 OC with my memory @ ddr2 800 @ 1.8v, and it ran great even with p95, so i guess why add volt if u dont need too, hehe

1 rule in OC ram. its not always more voltage can give you more speed or lower timing. because memory module and IC is vulnerable to high voltage. so too much voltage will end up blowing up your ram chip.
