I've come to difficulties which make my brain burn. I've got pentium d 920 and I'm not going to have anything better in short time. I tried to overclock it several times but without success. OC to 3ghz from 2.8 is to much for my cpu. I gave it a shot on ASUS P5Ne-SLI and also I didn't do any better. I have gigabyte GA-945pl-s3 rev.1 and what is strange that I can lower the voltage of cpu to 1.0v, which I couldn't on that asus. Also, even though it is said that is support memory only to 533mhz I can change the multiplier to 800mhz and it works fine. And still asus couldn't do it. I had c2d e6400 for a little while and I pushed my motherboard's fsb to 266 when it is said that 200 is maximum. The next thing is that I could lower the voltage of that c2d to 1.0v, too. Which hang up on that asus. And still, the heat and power consuption were equal to those that should be on 1.0v. I just can't figure out what's going on with that motherboard. If you had an idea, please, share with me;))

well if you are OC you mean to make the voltage higher not lower it to 1.0V. i dont know who told you to set it there or start from there. put all the voltage back to default and start your OC again.

Um..yes. You see. When I couldn't push it up to 3ghz with the voltage of 1.45V i thought of lowering it and making the pc more silent. So it like that: 2.8ghz at 1.0v and 3ghz can't pass prime95 at 1.45V.

It's not memory. And it's not temperature. In winter I made it almost 0 degrees C and again no luck. I guess my cpu is one of the chosen one which does not overclock at all. It's just odd that I can lower that much the voltage and can't push cpu any further with the stock one(which is 1.275v).
