Hi guys, hoping someone could point me in the right direction for replacement motherboard..
Heres the deal,
Recently my father passed away and I inherited his computers..
His main computer is a Pentium D 820 set on an Asus P5ND2-SLI... When we built this computer Asus was not as open about the Pentium D 820 only using one core as they are now.. So for the lifespan of this computer it has only used one core of the dual core CPU..
For sentimental reasons I would like to keep the computer pretty close to the way it was when my father owned it, but I would like to unlock the second core..
I've looked at replacing the CPU to a dual core that the P5ND2-SLI would use both cores but that seems very expensive..
Motherboards on the other hand seem a bit cheaper..
This is what I need out of a motherboard:
Pentium D 820 processor (socket 775)
PCIe x16 (Do not need the SLI)
DDR2 (pref 4 dimm slots)
STATA (Need atleast 3 connects on the MB, have 2 raptors and another sat drive)
Any help would be appreciated,
Don
