Hey all, I have a EVGA 8800 GTS 320 MB video card. It has stock speeds for 513 MHz core and 792 MHz memory.
I have it in an Antec P180B case. Fans are set to LOW.
During idle with fan at stock 60% the Core temps at 66 C. When I run ATI tools to check artifacts for 10 minutes, the temps go up to 86 C and the fan ramps up to about 75%. I have been poking around the forums and that seems high but within limits. Is that the case?
I used RivaTuner to increase the core to 592 MHz and memory to 900 MHz. I set up a scheduler to run the fan at 65%, then to 75% at 75 C, and then 85% at 83 C, and 95 % at 90 C.
When I run ATI Tool "check artifact" for 10 minutes, it get to about 86 C still.
Temperature in room was about 26 C.
Are those temps OK? Should I increase the fan speeds on the video card at lower thresholds (I want as quiet a system as possible). Would increading the case fans to Medium greatly lower the temps?
That's quite high but maybe it's normal.
I have XFX 8800GTS 320MB overclocked 615/1000 MHz, got idle temp 50°C and load 63°C. Fan set at 75% plus an antec cyclone blower : http://www.antec.com/us/productDet [...] dID=77194#
Dont test it with ATI tool, test it with a heavy game like Crysis IMO and see what the temps will be however the max temp for 8800 series is 100c so yours are fine

I saw temps of 70C on my 8800GTS 640 before I got my waterblock in the mail. Stock temps saw about 66-68C, OC saw 70-72C.
