Hey guys need your help once again.. I installed 2 HD3870 in crossfire on motherboard D975XBX rev3. I'm not sure if it is installed correctly because when I play COD4 only 1 card gets very warm. How I can tell is in the back of the case the top card blows hot air and the bottom one has no hot air coming out of it. However when I go to CCC it says crossfire has now started, but everything else 3dmark06 doesnt recognize it as crossfire. I've checked the second card in the case and the cooling fan is running. When I hookup only 2 cards do I need to use both crossfire connecting strips? Right now I have both hooked up. If i only need to hookup one strip which set on the card do I use? Would this the problem? I really dont think both cards are running as I dont see a change in frame rates either crysis for COD4. I've checked with sapphire and they dont say anything how to hookup the strips.
THanks Again

I'm about 4 days ahead of and recently experienced the same problem. Before I give my opinion, I just want to make sure you have the dual video card option selected in the Call od Duty 4 settings. (Just checking)
Otherwise, the top card of your crossfire setup is very close to the back of the bottom card. It is sucking in alot of hot air. I corrected this by adding a fan perpendicular to the 2 3870's. This way there is fresh air between them that the top card can intake.
I Hope this helped. As I said, I had this problem just a few days ago!
