First of all my System.

Q6600
GA-EP35-DS3
Corsair 800Mhz XMS2 DHX PC2-6400 2GB Kit (4-4-4-12)
GeForce 6600 :(
TT TR RX 450W

Ok. my CPU runs now at 3Ghz 334x9 Without adding Voltage to the cpu 26% OC , and my ram At moment 835Mhz 5.8% OC 2.0V

Now Before that i tried somthing to take the RAM to 1066Mhz With 2.3V and It works, i did tests with prime95 orthos MemTest OCCT I passed all tests.
But again i read the is toooo much voltage , and i was afraid ill Ruin my Ram so i toke the voltage down.. But.

i saw an review on the ram i have and they OC with 2.3V.. So u think its Safe?

Heres what they do .

"With the timings loosened a little to 5-5-5-12 and the voltage kept at 2.3v, the XMS2 DHX managed an impressive overclock of 174 Mhz (DDR2 349), bringing the kit to a fantastic DDR2 speed of 1149. All the results taken were tested for absolute stability with OCCT stress testing."

BTW , i didnt tray more then 1066Mhz for now.

So what u guys Think its safe or not?

I don't think that you are going to see enough real world performance improvement to make it worth running 1066. It's harder on the MCH and RAM for very little gain. A lot of people are pushing 1:1 with tightened timings. Again I don't think you will find much difference, but the 1066 get's a little hot.

Thank you :) now i feel much better :)

And i dont want to Fried :\

i was able to get
5-5-5-12 1113Mhz 2.2v

4-4-4-12 1002Mhz 2.3v <-- This was abit faster Make sense?

And BTW , i really feel the change? i know its there , but i can really feel performance improvement?

And thank you for your replies .

darq i think you should know the fact that running the ram at faster speed thent he FSB will get you virtual no gain at all. apart from maybe few ns reduction thats all. run the ram at 1:1 to fsb will be best.

i wanted to say something else and Edit my post but i got some evil msg "You are not allowed to edit this message! "

anyway.

yes ill do 1:1 to the FSB.
and Thank you guys :)

the extra give you quicker response but dont get the speed increase if the FSB is increase at the same time. that amount of strain on the memory and MCH will shorten the life span of the component dramatically. but of course i have no prove for this as i havent fried a memory or mobo this way.

yea i know , well i just wanted to test abit , and also this ram got better cooling.
if its ok to run this ram at 2.3V
and sometimes we OC for the fun of it , to see how far it can go :p

but after all i got back to my normal

4-4-4-12 835Mhz 2.0V
With nice "small" OC Q6600 2.4Ghz to 3Ghz 334x9

All works fine i dont really feel i need more then that
Photoshop and Dreamwever launches in like 2.5 Sec and Next week ill get my HD4870
so ill see improvement on games as well.

iluvgillgill , Thank you for your help :)

lol.... well personally i believe any voltage increase on ANY hardware will decrease its lifespan (either small or large...), but it all depends on how logn you wanna keep your system. i doubt that a system with an extreme OC and voltage changes would last 5 years running 10 hours a day....but then who keeps a gaming comp for that long? all up to ya preferences...

BTW i may be (and probably am) wrong, cos iluv is way smarter than me at overclocking but thats just my opinion.
