If you want SLI then get an Nvidia chipset... get a 780i board. this one is the best: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813188024

It all depends on the price and how many features you want. The lowest I would go with is this:

Moving up the price range:

If you want to go even higher, there is the X38 chipset, but it's a little overpriced. The new 7 series of Nvidia chipsets are basicly the same as the 6 series of chipsets, except with more PCIe lanes. The X38 and the new 7 seris of Nvidia chipsets all have PCIe 2.0, but it isn't really that important yet, as most graphics cards don't even use up all of the bandwith in PCIe 1.1 slots. I have the MSI board and it has served me well so far. I can change my memory dividers without changing the FSB strap and I have easily overclocked to 3 Ghz on it so far.

As mentioned above, Intel chipsets do not support SLI. I don't know what you looking at for graphics but just be aware of this. I too prefer Nvidia chipsets.
