Hi

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with Vista, with a partitioned hard drive.

I have been told that I can re-allocate space from my Data E drive to my Vista C drive.

Could you please help me do this?

Appreciated,

Bill

Thank you.
As I understand it, it is all one HDD, but it is partitioned into two parts, which are labelled Data E and Vista C.

E contains HDD recovery folder, but also a lot of free space, which I think could be good to re-allocate to Vista C, to increase my storage capacity there.

At the moment C has 31.7 GB free of 74.2 GB.
E has 67.8 free of 73.3GB.

Can you offer advice on how to re-allocate space from E to C?

All the best

Bill

OK bill, make sure that your laptop is fully charged and on the charger - IMPORTANT.

Go to computer management>>>right click on D >>>select Shrink volume (shrink it by the size that u would like to reallocate to C:\)

Go to computer management>>>right click on C:\>>>Select Extend volume ....

Hi Nikkor
Sorry I am so slow.
I appreciate your help.

I have found my disc management page, where it shows the sizes and free spaces roughly as I stated in my initial reply to you.
However when I right click E and choose the Shrink option, a new window shows Total size before shrink 75125 MB, BUT size of available shrink space 37510 MB.
It is this latter figure I can't understand. I thought it should be in the region of 67000 MB.
I thought I would like to ask you this before going ahead and shrinking it.
Thank you
Bill
