Yes, another one of THOSE posts... I don't want to overspend on my power supply, as I have a tight budget. I know you get what you pay for, but I'm not sure what I need. This is my future setup, and I'm not sure if I will be overclocking much so keep that in mind...

E8400
8800GT 512MB
1 HDD, 1 DVD-RW drive
2 120mm fans
2GB DDRII ram

I've been looking around the 500W range, and I know I need at least 28A @ 12V for the 8800 GT. I've also been looking at the tier list, but I'm not sure how outdated it is. I found the Enermax Liberty EG465P-VE FMAII 460W ATX V2.2 EPS12V 20/24PIN CrossFire Certified Power Supply for $60 at NCIXUS.com, which has 32A combined @ 12V (22A and 20A, not too sure on what the math is here) and is in tier 2. Anyways, is this good enough for me? Or should I look for something more?

To "future" proof and be on the same side, I'd go with at least 550w. At least I see PSUs as a long term investment in that you can use them in furture upgrades

The 460w Liberty is just adequate for your non-sli system. Enermax is pretty good. The pc power and cooling 470w is also recommended but more expensive.

I'm not sure if I'm going to worry about "future-proofing" since I plan to have this setup last me a couple of years. I'm content with gaming at lowest settings, since thats what I've been doing my whole life. The only thing I might change is the video card if needed after a few years, so I'm not too worried about the future.
