Windows vista bit upgrade?

Hello everyone!
i have a new computer with vista business 32 bit (custom install, computer is home-built) and was wondering if i could upgrade it to a 64 bit OS? it seems that it would be pretty simple. i don't want to buy anything from Microsoft, and don't want to do anything illegal either. is it possible?

You would need to do a clean install with Vista 64 bit media,but your current key should work.
