Hi

I have a rig which was working normally. One day 1 of the 3 drives I had failed on me, bad sector and it would just show in Windows as "unformatted please format drive" (and you know all the programs I had installed in that drive would show this white icon and when double click it would tell windows is searching for the program). Well it happened that I started using programs to recover my data and while I was using a program that was scanning the drive in windows(to recover valid data) the computer showed BSoD. Then I restarted the pc and it would just not post, it showed anything on the screen. Everything would turn on but the screen is black. I RMAd my 2 sets of RAM (Corsair and GSkill) tried with both of them but nothing. I also reset the BIOS 1000000000000000000 Times but nothing. Tried with 1 stick of RAM but nothing. Last slot of motherboard but nothing.

I seriously dont know what to do. My pc has been like this since a month and I cant have it like that anymore. Dont know whats going on. There is no way 4 sticks of ram are defective.

What Im almost sure is that the BSoD came from the RAM. Override memory or Overload memory something like that.

What can I do to solve this? and btw I dont have another pc to try my components, but I dont think my cpu or videocard died because they were normal.

Well, Ultra X-Connect PSUs are on tier-5 ("Do not buy" ), and Xfinity/X2 are only on tier-4 of the listing at http://www.tomswiki.com/page/Tiere [...] gs?t=anon. Especially if yours is the former, maybe it croaked, taking your mobo, CPU, and/or GPU into the afterlife with it.
You'll need to do some testing. You can get a PSU tester like this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6899887004 to start.

there has been some issues with ASUS Striker Extreme bios reset switch..
http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.php?t=435200

Not saying this is your problem for sure, but i know with my Striker i had huge issues till i figured it out.

1) Can you still get in BIOS? If so.. set it back to default settings, no OC's.
2) What does the little panel on the striker read during post?

Well my PSU has always worked great. Never had problems with it. Also, no burning smells and everything turns on so I dont think the PSU went boom.

Now, I understand the striker bios has many problems but I was always able to pass those. Idk why I cant now. I cannot get into BIOS my screen stays black. I have reset it 100 times and nothing (usually I made it work that way before).
The panel says CPU INIT and I have tried the common solution of putting 1 stick of RAM in the last slot but nothing.

I dont know what can I do because everything seems to turn on and the fans lights etc but I just dont get anything in the screen.
