Im planning on purchasing the evga 8800gt and Crysis bundle in the UK - but I don't know how complicated the step up programme is, so if anyone could share there thoughts on that...

Also, if I do get the bundle and I choose to step up, would I have to end up sending the game off too?

Hi there, you and me are in the same boat, I saw that crysis bundle and noticed for the same price you can get the higher clocked version of the card I think from 600-700mhz.

Step-up is pretty simple, how it works is if within 3 months of your purchase you wish to upgrade your card, maybe to a GTX you can send in your old card, and pay the difference. Simple as that.

You do not have to return bundled games.

Quote - "An exception to this rule is if the original product came with a promotional game. This is deemed as a gift and does not need to be returned with the trade-in card. The participant will not be charged for not returning a bundled game. "

Hi thanks for that, cleared some things up for me ;)

Now I'm just trying to decide whether I get the Crysis + evga 8800gt or the leadtek 8800gt gtb which runs at 680mhz and faster shader clock etc. The crysis bundle is around £25 more (around $50) than the OCd leadtek.

Any help on which I should get? Because the Leadtek sounds like a better deal but doesn't have the step up programme which is appealing.

If you are comfortable with overclocking the videocard yourself, and money is tight, you CAN overclock the card yourself. In fact EVGA is very forgiving regarding RMAs so Id go that route.

Yeah, unless the Leadtek has a better cooler than the evga, then just OC the evga yourself. Register your card within 30 days to keep the lifetime warranty and then eye up what becomes available in the stepup. evga is the first NVidia brand I llok toward, but I won't pay alot more for them. (I went BFG after finding a good price)
