Sorry i know this is really going to sound like a dumb question but doing my normal rutine of google searchs was really unable to help me this time. I have two motherboards and my new DV7 HP laptop all have esata on them. I also have two 2.5 portable hard drives that have both esata connections and usb. I have recently always just USB but esata would just run quicker and was going to try and start using this connections. But i found conflicting information on how that they should be connected/disconnected. Is this something that just on the fly i can plug in and then safely remove just like usb? And my other question I know with these hard drives they can just run off the power from the USB cable. Would that be the same for esata or would I need to just use power from usb port and then connect esata. Thank you for the help i was just having lots of problems finding relevent answers else where online.
