Hi. I am just curious, I have a question to anyone that has gone through Evga's step up program. Basically, when they give you notice that they have your card in stock, do you have to send in your card and wait till' they receive it and then do they send you your new card? How long did this process take for you?

I was just a bit curious over the process, if it means having my PC w/o a video card for a month I'd be worried.

I have yet to use the step up program, but I buy only EVGA video cards these days,I currently have 6 of them starting with the 6600GT to 2 7800GTs,a7950GT KO,7950GX2and an 8800GT superclock. My understanding is that EVGA will cross ship in most cases thereby preventing you from having lengthy down times while waiting for your new card. But if they won't cross ship with you,I suggest purchasing a mid range card, even second hand.Or you could send the card priority post and get it to them in a couple days, thereby shrtening your downtime as they send your new one as soon as they get your old one.You shouldn't be down for more than 10 days. But if they do cross ship, you'll have your new card in 3-4 days.E-mail their technical support guys on the cross shipping just to see if they will do it.Goodluck.

They do not cross ship for Step Up program! They made it very clear in the program rules. Have you read them? They are located in California. So, it depends on where you are. I am from Michigan so it took 3 days each way for UPS Ground. You can pay more to get faster shipping. But it's not worth it, because you can buy a 8400GS for $19.99. That's what I did. Don't make it hard, it's an easy process. I was very pleased with the customer service (both email and phone). And they shipped my new card within hours of receiving my old one. Amazing. Thanks, EVGA!
