I was trying to do some research but couldn't find much. I am trying to advise a friend of mine who has her own business and needs her files that her employees work on updated and sent back to her home (wireless network). I had advised a NAS so when the employees are at her home business they can work and update and send the file to the NAS there. But what about when there on the road? Does the NAS support anything so that they can login remotely into the NAS and send the updated files like that?

I'm pretty sure you can use port forwarding to access the NAS away from home.

Example:

NAS IP = 192.168.2.20

Go onto the router and configure port forwarding for incoming traffic from port 80 (Not secure btw) to 192.168.2.20 .

Next, find her external, static IP. (Should appear somewhere on the router page) For example 208.255.204.2

Test the new forwarding by going to http://208.255.204.2:80 (Basically http://<externalip>:<port#> )

I believe that should work. Otherwise, she can just buy a cheap computer and use it as a FTP server and have the NAS attached to that.
