Questions
CPU Cooler - Originally Thermalright Ultra 120, out of stock.
Motherboard - Changed from initial board as per thread input.
Video - Debating stepping down from this card until newer cards are out, basically this PC being built in preparation for Age of Conan so I've got until mid/late March to commit to graphics, but the budget is here now ;p
Open to any comments on the keyboard/mouse/sound as well. All seems to be good stuff and I've never gone the gaming keyboard/mouse route before, macros were usually ran external. - updated in later reply.

This all weighs in around $1,969 not counting on around 150-180 in rebates. This includes around 600-700 w/sound and input/headsets etc...
- $1283 for System Only (Shipping Included) with $105 in potential rebates
- $686 in peripherals / monitor / Sound Card + Speakers / Keyboard + Mouse + Headset

Thanks in advance.

As far as the headset goes I would suggest a Sennhieser. They make amazing headsets. (Great sound and quality.)

Also the stealth/gaming keyboards are great... that is if you are playing new games that you don't already have muscle memory for. I used one for a couple of weeks and it didn't help that much at all. (Sometimes it was worse.)

You might want more storage space than just the raptor.

I would also assume that you want to SLI in the future? If not I would say go with a P35 board. Also the 650i doesn't support Peyrns.

I would also look for some where that sells antec 900s for cheaper than Newegg.

Tuniq Tower 120 is pretty much as good as the thermalright

I would also be looking at P35 board... Gigabyte, Asus or Abit

Video would be best with an 8800GT its cheaper and not much worse on the performance. get eVGA so you can utilise their stepup program

I like the G5's they are slimmer and cheaper... although the G9 looks nice. I also went with a G15 keyboard, which i like i dont use the macros though so cant comment there. The new G15 rev2 i think they call it, i dont like cause the LCD is built into the keyboard.

Depending on what you are going sound wise... i would be getting the Z-5500's as they are SOOO much better than the ones you chose, and more connectivity. Sennheiser headphones are also great i own these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826106392&Tpk=hd555

Looked around at the P35's as I really do not plan to SLI at this point, price and quad still I think this one may foot the bill, though I've only used Gigabyte and MSI in the past. Any comments on this board as opposed to original planned would be welcomed.

ASUS P5K-E LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131225

Went ahead and changed the plan to include the GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail, I actually had it in my spreadsheet as an alternate, forgot all about it.

Followup question on the recommended RAM, the Memory compatibility list for the board lists the 1066 version of the OCZ, should the 800 work just fine as well? Just added note my previous PATRIOT Ram was awesome for ever, is why I leaned toward PATRIOT this time, but OCZ and this board seems to make sense money wise and OC wise.

Chookman, thanks on the Tuniq, adjusted that and saved a few bucks.

On the Headset/Speakers, The price steps there a little larger than I'd like though with both your inputs somewhat leaning to the Sennheiser. This will actually be my first surround sound endeavor and the speakers have 3 kids and a dog to contend with so I'm not too hot on pissing away hundreds of dollars on speakers that will likely be bashed to hell, I will keep those under advisement tho :p

Doghills, I should be alright the 939 based system I use now will be receiving a new 750GB for storage, this new system really only has Age of Conan to worry about running. However I did find the 900 a good deal cheaper thanks on that.

Thanks for the feedback on the Keyboards/Mice,

On Video, I was thinking along the stepup lines if I go a notch down on the video for now, but have read mixed reviews of the stepup working out. Definitely mulling it over though at near 100 difference. Think I'll go take a closer look at stepup. :)

I looked at the G15 but I'm primarily interested in the macros as I normally run two characters in any game I play I end up macroing quite a bit to keep the alt in tune with the main. Also my first delve into anything than standard mouse and keyboard.

First post ever on Tom's long time reader, but appreciate all the quick feedback and links to alternatives.

- Edited original post to include changes influenced by this thread.

And following up with more questions.

On the ANTEC 900, I didn't realize it was not a full tower, I have a full tower at the moment and am definitely not opposed to them. Any suggestions on a case that would cool as well, full tower, same or near price? I just don't fell like cramming 10 lbs of crap into a 5 pound bag.

On the new MOBO/RAM combo, seems to me it should work out fine just not specifically on the memory compatibility list @ http://tw.giga-byte.com/FileList/MemorySupport/motherboard_memory_ga-p35-ds3l_2.0.pdf
- Also still wondering about this MOBO
http://tw.giga-byte.com/FileList/MemorySupport/motherboard_memory_ga-p35-ds3l_2.0.pdf

I think I've decided to stick with the GTS G92, even thinking about step up, it's that much closer of a price difference if it does work out.
