Maybe the spacebar has an obstruction - toast crumbs are usually prime suspect. Tip the keyboard upside down and whack the bottom as you might burp a baby only a lot harder.

Is your printer one of those which needs to be told you've replaced a cartridge? Check in the Properties and change if necessary.
