Always wanted to know. Thinking about picking up an Sata 20X cd burner. How much faster/better are they? Thanks

They are not faster. Both IDE and SATA are fast enough to support 20x speeds.
You do got some practical benefits from switching to SATA:
-Small SATA cable instead of big ribbon cable.
-No more jumpers to configure.
-No more Windows turning off DMA with no good reason.

So go with the SATA one if you can.
