I have only had the P35-DS3L for a few weeks now and I love it. You all know it has 4 fan connectors on the MB.

CPU Fan, System Fan 1, System Fan 2 , and Power Fan

1. System Fan 1 and Power Fan are 3 pin connections, and System Fan 2 is 4 pin. I think the fourth pin is for speed control but what fan/program/bios setting is controlled by it?

2. I plugged an Aero Cool Xtreme Turbine 120mm fan into the power fan connection. The fan is rated at 1800 RPMs. Speed fan and BIOS say it's running at 1475 RPMs. Is there a way to increase the RPMs to this fan?

Thanks

Have you tried FanSpeed Utility ? Its a free utility software that you can use to control your fans. There are other fan controllers that you can use, but most of them will not use the connectors on the motherboard. You will have to connect the fans directly to the controllers. I have the Zalman ZM-MFC2 and its great, but expensive.

simple.

first. u cant control the 3 pin fans. in this board.

second, u want it to run at full speed all time? turn off smartfan in bios, under Pc health.

third, u want to use speedfan to control the speed. google the configuration.
