Please can you tell me if I can replace a standard sata hard drive in my moms 4 year old pc with a sata 2 drive ?
Is the 2 just a faster speed ?
Thank you
Just reading the post below I see an issue with Dell ?
This is a dell computer im going to put the drive in and comes with a dell recovery disc, will there be a problem using this to install on the new harddrive ?
Yes, you can replace the SATA drive in your mother's computer with a SATA2. Yes, the drive can be faster in a machine supporting SATA2, but no problem with what you want to do. Set the Dell BIOS to boot from the CD/DVD drive first and boot up the recovery disk, back in business!
