Hi everyone, :hello:
I upgraded my pc last month excluding the gpu and psu. currently i have a stock psu that came with the casing and because of the cash problem i was'nt able to upgrade it with rest of my parts. The stock psu is ASUS rated at 350W, peak 400W.
Here are the specs of pc :
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4 GHz G0 Stepping
Intel DP35DP mobo
Corsair XMS2DHX 4GB 800 Bus
MSI Geforce 7600GT

i will be getting a xfx 8800gtx next month but now i want a better PSU and i can spend a maximum of 75USD on it. i am not going to do any sli setup in the near future. Which PSU will you recommend?

I was looking at ASUS 450W PSU and CoolerMaster Extreme Power 600W, both have rougly the same price, which one is better?

Why are you getting an 8800GTX?
Get an 8800GT or an 8800GTS 512MB and save some money. The G92 8800GTS even outperforms the 8800GTX in many benchmarks, and costs less.
As for you PSU question, get something better.
This one is a great unit, and costs $70 after MIR:

It's 450W, but has 33A on a single 12V rail, which is probably the highest amperage you'll find on a sub-500W unit.

EDIT: Hehe, DellUser beat me to it. The link he posted has a better price, so go with that.
