heres a quick question, do i need a PCI-E 2.0 compliant slot on my mobo to support one of these cards or will the current standard b fine?
PCIe is backwards compatible. As long as the mainboard manufacturers stick to the specifications 2.0 cards will work flawlessly on PCIe 1.0 boards. There are a few manufacturers that haven't taken the specifications to heart though.
