Hi
I would like to ask what FAN is the best to cool an intel Q9450?

Noctua and Scythe make good fans but are kinda pricey, I find yate loon fans work great for 1/10 the price of a noctua or scythe. It really depends on what you want to spend and how tolerant you are of noise, some fans have great airflow but sound like a jet turbine.

get a high CFM rating on the fan if you dont care about noise. but make sure that the output of the case fans can match close to that, or the fan will continue to blow hot air over something that's already hot.

don't forget to order the retention bracket because push pin mounting sucks.

I like quiet, so I have a Noctua fan on my TRUE. The Scythe is also good, though it seemed a touch noisier. Could be just a different pitch that got my ears attention and not the decibels. Don't know.

well the best fan, hands down would probably be the Delta GFB1212VHW 120x76mm Very High Speed on this page http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/120mmfans.html . ha keep in mind this fan is not quiet but you mentioned nothing on noise in your original post.

haha i wonder what temps you would get if you funneled the output to a 120 mm fan size.

Reply to jaibot18

lol when you funnel that air in, it will rip your motherboard apart

Reply to blogz101

lol i say you test it out and post back with results

wow that 120x76 that jaibot posted is BEAST
and only 59dB?? you would think its over 100...
it has 2x as much airflow as my a2018's at only +10dB...

Assuming you have the space to fit it...

And exactly how big a PSU do you need to run that fan? I looked at my present 850wt, but it ran for cover and hid. I think its having a nervous breakdown or something.

dude, that jet fan is moving thousands of cf/m. it also would produce such a large vacuum, that you could make your entire computer a vacuum, which would make for really interesting cooling.
